The bonkers back-story sets the mood and theme of Hoxley and Porter. The modern British menu served in the "Dining Carriage" (minus the sticky grand Union Floors) seats 28 and will serve hearty braised pork and pot roasted rabbit and will also serve weekend brunch.
A big draw card enticing us is the cocktail bar. Referred to as Porter in the name… the exquisite diamond etc, will include some rather exciting cocktails. Look out for the "Caribbean inception", branded as 'the thinking man's banana daiquiri', with fried plantain fat-washed gold rum, lime juice, a touch of overproof white rum, molasses syrup and the "Thyme of gentility", 'a combination of classic gin and rum cocktail ingredients - refreshing and summery'.
Finally, like all good London cocktail bars there is the exclusive ‘invite only’ opportunity for diners to visit The Crypt. Down in the basement you can catch a glimpse of the preparation of weird and wonderful ingredients including homemade ginger ale and the edible scorpions
