Meaning ‘soup’ in Chinese, Tang offers canteen style seating and a selection of steaming bowls from an open kitchen. On the menu, Tang has its own take on a ramen, a spicy Pho, and for the non-noodle fans a selection of rich and hearty rice dishes, fresh salads and some of the best vegetarian options we have seen in a restaurant of this kind.
Stand outs for us included the Korean-inspired fried soya milk chicken seasoned with homemade hot sauce; Crispy black bean tofu in a white miso sauce; and a cold wheat noodle salad with Asian pear, cucumber, pickles, goji berry and a soft-boiled egg that will placate any hungry herbivore. Catering to another dietary need, there are also gluten free bao buns with fillings such as fried chicken with pickled bok choi, braised beef with cucumber, and crispy tofu with salted egg yolk sauce. All dishes are dairy free, organic and halal.
Tang is casual and all about stopping in for a meal whilst on the go. Come on your own or in a group, and order a little of everything! It’ll be good for your soul.
