Chick ‘n’ Sours is a Dalston fried chicken shop, but not as you know it! It has a short, punchy fried chicken menu: there’s a House Fry, a Guest Fry, a House Sour and a Guest Sour.
The Guest Fry is a guest star on the menu and changes on a monthly basis. It is inspired by other countries’ interpretations of fried chicken. Expect pimped up versions of Chinese General Tso and Kung Pao – and hold on to your hats for the Chick ‘n’ Sours version of Fried Butter Chicken with Jhal Muri sprinkles. Not forgetting the veggies, there is a Chinese steamed turnip cake; with the addition of soy pickled shiitake mushrooms.
The side dishes are stars in their own right. Highlights include: Sprouting broccoli, seaweed mayo & pickled green beans; Laksa peas & coconut cashews; Grilled kimchi with Japanese mayo & crispy chicken skin; and Coal grilled corn with Berkswell cheese, lime & coriander... to name a few.
Weekends mean killer brunch menus – such as Son in Law Eggs: an Asian-style fluffy omelette with spicy fish sauce, chilli jam caramel and lots of crunchy toppings such as crispy shallots, garlic, crispy dry shrimp and lots of fresh Asian herbs.
Mammoth “Whole Fry Sunday” sees a whole fried chicken for 2 with chilli vinegar, gochujang mayo and pickled watermelon. Just wait ‘til you see it!
Cocktails are priced at just 6 quid and you can expect some cool creations as well as soft serve ice-cream in a range of flavours including Weetabix.
There will be a soft launch from 14th – 16th April with 50% off all food.
